We have been tasked to develop a feasibility study for a large composting system for dairy waste. The system is predicted to receive 400+ tons of de-watered biosolids each day.

At this point in the process I am looking for viable options, and I am interested in whether this is an application suited for the walking floor conveyors, and if there are any being used in a similar way.

Thank you greatly for any info,

Hello David,

Thank you for your inquiry.

A WALKING FLOOR Conveyor is a viable option for your application. We have a customer using a WALKING FLOOR conveyor to compost de-watered biosolids at a sewer waste treatment plant in South Carolina. The system has been in use since 1990 and has worked very well. Although the amount of biosolids at the waste treatment plant is small compared to 400 tons per day it is a similar application.

Thanks Rick.

After researching the KEITH website, I thought it would work for this application. I appreciate the confirmation.

And as I understand it, these floors can be built to spec'd dimensions and tonnage.

I will let you know if we go in this direction.

Thank you,

You are correct, the floors are built to spec'd dimensions and tonnage. We also take into consideration the type of material an how the material is loaded into the bin.
